I just built a new pc and i just got this error window saying this:

Attention!!!
Harddisk 1
SMART error report for drive
WDC WD 2000JS-98NCBI
Serial: (serial number)
Parameter unknown (1) calue 45 below
detect possible

It is a 200GB WD harddrive.. it could be that i connected it wrong but i cant see what or how.. other than that it seems to run fine..

SMART works on fault tolerance. It's found a value which is either above or below the 'safe' operational threshold, and is alerting you of a problem which could potentially develop into an inoperable Hard Drive...

...even if at the current time, it seems to be working fine.

Because it alerts you before the problem develops, I'd make sure that any important data on the HDD is backed up on another medium. I would also think about having the HDD refunded, replaced...or buy a new one to replace it now, or for if and when it does fail, whether that be today, tomorrow or the near future.

Problem is it can't tell you when the drive will fail, or if it definitely will. But the probability is high.

It could just be false reading...but I wouldn't take the risk. Get it refunded or replaced if you can.
