Error messages during windows startup

Hi all. I am brand spanking new to these forums and it is my hope that I can get a little bit of assistance here. Just today, as windows was loading (operating Windows 2000), I received the following error messages...

the file or directory \WINNT\System32\psexec.exe is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility

the file or directory \WINNT\System32\run32.bat is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the ChkDsk utility

Does anyone have any idea as to what this means? Computer seems fine right now, as I clicked "ok" on the error message boxes. But I am someone who likes to resolve all his computer problems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

psexec.exe is a program that's usually droped by a worm. your computer is likely infected by a worm like W32/Randon-I. you should update your anti-virus then run a full system scan and delete all suspicious files and that psexec.exe.
