Thats as good a computer as you should get. Don't go an inch above that, then it just gets ridiculous.

2 things you should know; GeForce 8 is coming out in the July and those videocards have DX10 support. You won't be able to play any DX10 games, not even with almost $700 of raw graphics power. If you buy a PC right now, you'll probably have to sell your videocard when DX10 games come out in the beginning of 2007. Also, you won't have the best graphics power in the world when GeForce 8 comes out. You might want to wait to buy some GeForce 8800GTs or something.

Another - Intel Core 2 Duo processors come out in the July timeframe also. A $327 2.4Ghz Intel Conroe processor will put that $327 AMD Opteron 165 to a dieing shame. I wouldn't suggest buying a PC right now at all, since it will pretty much be second-rate when Conroe comes out.

If you learn one thing from computer hardware, learn this; Despite what people may tell you, if you're getting a top-of-the-line computer, get parts as soon as they come out. A Intel Conroe + GeForce 8 system that you get in July will BY FAR last you the longest of any computer on the face of this planet. It will also stay top-of-the-line the longest.

I spent quite a bit of time making that build for you, but in NO WAY do I support getting it right now.

thats a great build again Green, but yeah what he said is true, you should really hold out till this summer, i no i am, no way i'd buy right now, that and i dont have the money right now, lol :p

Hmm if your really into getting a labtop you might want to consider this if you dont want to build your own. Comes with a 19 INCH SCREEN with great parts inside, equals dell and abit more at a lesser price + the 2 SLI 7800 gtx cards in it sorta helps it win hands down aswell then an equal priced dell labtop. Remember again dont forget it is 19" screen. ;) http://www.ibuypower.com/ibp/store/configurator.aspx?mid=172

Oh yeah let me add what Tom's Hardware thought of it, you should watch the vid and read what they said. http://www.tgdaily.com/2006/05/06/ibuypower_19inch_sli_notebook/

Comes with that huge 19" screen

1gb ram

x2 7800gtx graphics cards running in sli

Microsoft windows Media Center edition

Mobile AMD® Turion™64 MT-40 CPU

100 GB 5400rpm Serial-ATA-150 Super Slim Notebook Hard Drive

8X Dual Format DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW Drive [SC-600 SLI]

Plus other things like the warranty and a free carrying case and so forth, check it out yourself, great value for a great Lab imo;) .
