I have a S/PDIF connector on my asus p4p800 dex and was wondering if i can plug my xbox audio into that to hear it through my computer speakers... is it possible?

S/PDIF is that little yellow audio plug found on most mid-high end motherboards...basically it gives you true surround sound (not a duplicated stereo signal) without going and buying an expensive sound card.

I'm actually using my computer to play my Xbox on it (through a TV tuner) and I want to be able to listen to the audio through my computer speakers. So would the Xbox audio cable go right into the S/PDIF connector and could I hear the sound?

Ahh i see. lol, I tried to connect my Xbox into the S/PDIF anyway, but of course I got nothing. Thanks for the help!
