Hello,
For about 2 weeks, I have been getting one of those little windows error message saying that the program had encountered a fatal error, would have to close, and asking if you want to send an error report. This happens about 30 seconds after any program begins accessing the internet. Thus, if I start AIM and leave it disconnected it won't throw up an error, but about 30 seconds after I connect, it comes up with that error. This is true of every program that accesses the internet. I could post the entire text of the error details, but the details are enormous and I'll only post if neccessary. The strange thing is, I can drag the error messages down into the corner of the screen and go on using everything without a hiccup.
The only other symptoms that seem to have come with this problem are windows being unable to install any updates, and Emule refusing to 'complete' files after they've been fully downloaded.
I am using Microsoft Windows XP SP2. I connect to a router via ethernet (hardwired) to connect to the interent through a cable modem. Please ask for whatever other info might be relevant.
Has anyone ever encountered this before, or have any idea what it could be (or how to solve it)?
TIA,
Eric
