Ok, so my northbridge fan and I am making use of a temp fan situation in which I have a new fan/heatsink stuck to my stock heatsink (minus the fan of course) because I didnt want to take out my mobo to put a new fan on (yea, yea I know!). But Tigerdirect doesnt seem to carry many chipset fans...and most of the chipset fans listed seem to be for your video card. But I really need to get on top of this soon. And I figured that I might as well throw a more powerful fan on my CPU while Im at it. My question(s) are three fold:
1)is this a good CPU fan for my ASUS A8N Deluxe MOBO, AMD processor? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1432339&CatId=493
2)is this a northbridge fan or cpu fan? cuz it kind of looks like a northbridge fan even though it says VGA, are some interchangeable?
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=993564&CatId=0
3)can anyone give me a link to a nice "how to" site or something so that I dont mess this up?
As always, Im humbled by your guyses wisdom and most appreciative of it.

how do I know if my Northbridge chipset has a built-in graphics core, cuz I was thinking about getting a zalman passive heatsink but its says that it is not compatible with northbridges with built-in graphics cores...

Hmm.. I'll answer you'r first two questions first:

A. I dunno, it looks OK and its not too costy, but for almost same price you could get a nice thermaltake big typhoon or a zalman CNPS 7700-Cu or the CNPS9500 if you got enough cash [and room in you'r case, lol]

B. Dunno if its gonna fit a northbridge, but in that site of yours theres another one that says flat out that this will:

About the built in graphic core.... i'm not sure what you mean, like.. an on-board Video card? If thats what you mean just look @ you'r computer rear side [the back side.. where you connect thing] if you have a VGA connection on you'r mobo than the answer is yes... if you ment something else then i'm not sure, sorry.

Hope this helps somewhat....good luck.
