Hiya,
I have noticed this problem over the last one month. Sometimes when I press the eject button on the CDROM ( not writer .. ) The CDROM ejects the tray before the CD has stopped spinning completely.
So the CD spins 2-3 turns before stopping.
This happens a few times not necessarily with the same CD. Happened with an original Game CD too..
I noticed now that when I put a CD in the drive spins for a long time maybe at least 4-5 minutes before stopping. This is even if autplay is off.
This long period of CD spin ... is it normal. I think that pressing the eject button during this long spin is what causes it to eject without being stopped.
I am running my machine in dusty conditions. Do you think it could be a dust problem ? I've never cleaned my CD ROm with the So called CD head cleaners available.
Or do you think the CD ROM is on its way out.
Thanks in Advance
