If I bought a notebook from a company like dell, how easy would it be to upgrade the hardware? Such as the processor, video card, and RAM?

Processors are tough to upgrade, some Dells can do it tho. Also, video is almost always impossible to upgrade, I believe that Dell phased out this feature. basically, for almost all laptops, ram is the only thing that is universally upgradeable. My advice: Buy the best proc and vid card that you can for the notebook and don't worry about the ram as it's almost always cheaper to upgrade that yourself rather than on the manufacturers' site.
