To start off this is an old hard drive (maybe 2-3 years old) so it doesn't matter if i can't find a solution just figured i'd ask.
It's a 40gig Maxtor that came out of my grandparents computer (an old HP, peice of ****), i don't remember when it happened but, one day it just stopped working, period. It won't turn on in any computer i have been able to put it in but, it still has stuff on it that i could probably use (if i remember what it was).
You think it could be a blown resistor (my freind had one and i routed over it with a peice of wire and it still worked) or something more serious that i can't fix like an IC controller or something. There is no physical sign of damage on the outside.
Any help would be appreciated.
