K guys, I just whipped together a tutorial for using 2 empty 5.25" bays for an intake/exhaust 80mm fan. :D

On with the show...

necessary tools:
-dremel
-hot glue gun
-2 5.25" bay covers
-80mm fan
-80mm fan grill

Then, hot glue the 2 bay covers together:

Then, trace the circle of the fan grill onto the 2 covers:

Then, use your dremel to cut a rough circle just inside the circle you just traced. After that, use a sanding drum to make the circle perfect:

Then, depending on what kind of bay cover you have, make a few touch-up cuting/sanding for that fan to fit in nicely:

Then, make a mark for where the holes for the screws will go (sorry, no pic). Then drill holes (duh!).

Then, screw together fan/grill having the bay covers in-between the two:

Then snap the whole thing into a couple empty bay's and wire up that fan!

Sorry that the pics had to be linked. The forums limited how many pics I could post
Hopefully you guys liked this tut. Feedback is welcomed gladly ;)

Nice Job, i would paint those covers black, and buy a green fan with green led's and that would look so kickass.

yeah, and with some of that u-channel stuff from mnpctech.com would look dank, im gonna do that soon! thankx

yea, I forgot to say I was gonna spay it black when I get a chance :p and actually, that fan is UV reactive so I just gotta get a 2nd UV cc for the top half of my case and itl glow green :D

You could try finding a spare piece ofplastic, and cut it to size and just follow the tut like normal. Or, even cooler, would be if you cold get a piece of plexi to fit in there

Thanks for that xenium. I would do it but i realised that im not going to be able to because im getting a fan controller and new sound card which will take up the other 2 bays that i have free :s. Good one though

ok. Anybody think an 80mm fan may fit in a couple floppy drive bays? if not, I might try fitting a 60mm in those slots :D
