I am looking to build my own pc but i do not know much about motherboard and processors. So i want to get opinions on what parts and peices i should buy. my budget will be about 5-600. is that enough to build a good computer? the computer is gonna be used for basic internet browsing. dvd encoding and burning, music, and a little photoshop here and there nothing major. i have a socket 478 motherboard now its a dell dimension 4400 if i can use any parts from that even better if not im ok with that. Please help me out as i have no clue what todo .

edit: I also would like to have 3 harddrives.

well, if you arent going to be gaming, then go for higher cpu and lower video card. If you are going to game, then balance video card and cpu out. Then get 2 gigs of just about any type of ram (if you dont plan to OC), get a mobo with sata ports and get a few WD raptors to fill that criteria. Dont forget to not go cheap on a PSU. If you get a psu/case combo, throw the psu out the window as soon as you open the case. And if you dont know anything, make sure your video card is pci express ;)

also, if you dont plan to game, or at least hardly ever, just get a dual-core intel. If you do plan to game a bit, stick with a dual-core amd.

You can go lower on the vid card and then spend the rest of what you have on the hdd's...

No i will not ever game whatso ever never ever...lol last time i played a game on a pc was like 2003

edit: let me add i already have all the harddrives i just need a mobo that will support atleast 3 harddrives

are they sata or ide hdd's? either way, the dfi mobo would work fine, as long as you only use 1 dvd/cd drive.

good, i just built that one for a friend... :D

how is the door on that case and whats the high and low points? i dunno im gonna pick out a case think you can help me out with motherboard and things to add in it?

the front door seems a little flimsy but other than that its pretty durable, nice lights on the front and fans.. nice side panel and plenty of room. i liked it alot.

for the guts, get a crappier video card and then get a better cpu... if you need someone to build it for you, pm me
