Overclocked!

Technique Im running exactly the same motherboard and processor. But atm without any overclocking my cpu temp is around 41-45. So what kind of cpu cooler you have? Im using the one which shipped with the processor. I wish I had that low temps too..

i never OCed anything but.. if u OC U NEED to get a better cooling system. If ot a fan then water cooling. You can ruin ur CPU if u dont have a good cooling system

Can you really blow it up nowadays? Doesnt it just shutdown if/when temp gets too high?

Yes you can, the chip are built to shutdown(amd) throttle down(p4) when they get to hot, but it is not 100% effective.

yea if it overheats then it will shut down. But if you OC it wrong and too much power is going into the CPU then it will just burn out. The auto shut off only works if it gets too hot not if you OC it. They didn't build CPU's for that. I mean lets face it.. Intel or AMD dont want you OCing ur CPU...
