The problem is the transfer speed. For big companies that will actually be using that technology, 20Mbps is crap.

well seeing as how technology is improving weekly, in 1 year it will probably be able to get really fast.

Thats only from a prototype. If it's like all other technology, it will continue to get better and better. However, it looked like one drive took up a whole table (taking the beams into account), will it really that big?

it will probably be place closer together, and become miniature ( at least i hope), i think the space between the "laser" and the disk is for exhibiting purposes.
