I recently installed a water cooling system on my XP 2500+ OC'd to XP 3200+. I am currently about the same temps I was running with Air cooling about 49-51 C. This seems to high for water cooling since the ambient air in the case stays about 41-43 C. I think one of my problems is that I am running plain tap water. I am going to drain it out and put in distilled water but I was wondering about the type of coolant to use. It looks like most of the coolant additives designed for water coolant is just Ethylene Glycol. Can I use just plan Antifreeze. It seems stupid to pay $20 for a little bottle of coolant when I can go by a gallon for $6.

Thanks
Michael

De Ionised water (battery fluid) will be the norm. Distilled will cool slightly better.

Please say that you cleaned the CPU with Isopropyl and you a tiny blob of AS5?
