How to use a joyport?

Ok I need to know how to get a Logitech Wingman Formula GP joystick with gameport compatiblity to work with a sound blaster live! 5.1 sound card. I have tried so many ways and it wont work. I am currently looking for another joystick with a joy port to test and see if its joystick.

Just get an adaptor and run it in the USB.

dont feel like spending money/ordering from a random site. They can be really expensive and are hard to find. I just want to know how to get this **** joyport to work.

The drivers for these older joysticks are built into XP

Go into the control panel and game controllers and select add, find the logitech wingman digital devices (auto-detect) and select it click properties and advanced then calibrate it, If it still won't work try selecting one of the generic joysticks (ex.. 4 button with pov and throttle) and calibrate it that way.

is there anyway to test the port/joystick to make sure this isnt just a hardware failure?
