i think thats impossible, unless its on the taskbar. Maybe WindowBlinds lets you?
 
dunno who you were talking to, but yes. i used to have them disabled, but havent got around to it since i reformatted. how do you do it again?

EDIT: sort of done it. you create mydocs toolbar, and drag it onto the desktop. then make the box as small as it goes. then just put it in the corner. the only probelm is that it has to be 15 pixles ish away from the side, or it docks.
 
was talking to TD, but here is how tis done

1. Start regedit.
2. Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile
3. Delete the IsShortcut registry value.

4. Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\piffile
5. Delete the IsShortcut registry value.

My desktop looks so much better now...
