Just because thats the max resolution on the screen doesnt mean you have to play games at that. its easy enough to set it lower.

Have you seen 1024x786 on a widescreen monitor? Lol. Its ok enough on a regular monitor, but a widescreen monitor will kill it.

You can make it so it wont distort it with the black bars on the sides...

BF2 doesnt support widescreens but there is a hack but the HUD would be all oval

LCD's look terrible unless the resolution is set to its native resolution

i've seen some pictures of Vista (actually it was still called Longhorn, but) and all of the pictures were in widscreen format, i wouldn't be supprised if everything is going to switch over to widescreen eventually, but when is the question.........
