not to sound negative, but who the **** needs that. unless you download an enormous amount of uncompressed video to your computer for editing/encoding, or have the worlds biggest porn collection, there is no need for something big, not right now at least.

People like you were saying the same thing back when the first gigabyte hdd's were coming out.

Give me a dual core CPU and a unlcoked copy of FRAPS and I will use that in a week or so from my experience. A TV card will get thrown in the mix too.

As for the comment of the numerous hdd. You will need to get a SATA RAID card as well included in the price, and the fact that a single lump of storage is more useable than several hdd.

Newegg (The First Perpendicular Recording)

Does that mean it is the first perpendicular hdd?

I believe as far as desktop hdd's go, yes it is. I read that they are planning on having a 200GB for $104 (MSRP) and will be phasing out all large capacity longitudinal drives.

i remember reading in a guiness book of world records.. i think it was 2002.. the biggest hdd capacity was like 82 gigs... my god.. how far it has come eh?

wow.......in 2002 i still had a 20GB hard drive.......i still do......:(, im getting a new comp this summer so it should make up for it.

I just have a 150...its all I need...I just download music and play games with the occasional essay on word and such..

EDIT: John you better hurry up and buy your system....

I heard AMD is pulling the plug on opterons soon....

Glad I got my 175 :D
