That looks good but i would suggest on getting the 3700+ cpu or even a X2 3800+ and only getting 1Gb of ram. You will be wasting money if you buy a not so good cpu and upgrading it soon, its best to get a good cpu and add another stick of ram when you have some more money.

not bad...except for the optical drive...you NEED some kind of burner...either a combo drive or a DVD Burner.

i have been living without a burner for years now and never feelt the need of it and i use one of those optical drives, its pretty good and quiet

K this is what you do

1) switch optical drive to NEC 3550A

2) Downgrade PSU to Antec TruePowerII 550 Watt

3) Downgrade Mobo to MSI K8N Neo4-F

4) Upgrade CPU to x2 3800+

5) get g.skill value ram ( they are great) ( stick with 2GB dual channel)

6)Downgrade case to Thermaltake Tsunami

Those downgrades should give u enough money to get a X2 3800+ and u dont get any less performance then you would with ur original build, if anything this one will be better.

i would go with 2gb dual channel if you can afford it. if not then make sure when you get more ram that its the same so it will run dual channel.
