You are correct. I was thinking of just TV SD resolution when I typed that.

I actually have tried using an HDTV as a moniter. My geforce has a dvi port... so i got a cord that converst dvi to hdmi with is the port on the back of the HDTV and it hooked up just fine. The only issue is it can only support a max resolution of 1366x768... after thatyou have to pump the hertz down a little. BTW the hdtv is now up for trade for a better PC.

are there any other good 20" widescreen monitors besides the Dell and the Viewsonic, if not how bout a 17 or 19 widesceen with DVI????
