ok heres a good question.

In your opinion which is the best AMD Dual Processor CPU in the market.

arrange the CPU's from 1-10
1 being the best

consider price, value, performance, power, overclocking in your evaluations.

?) opteron 165
?) opteron 170
?) opteron 175
?) opteron 180
?) 4800+
?) 4600+
?) 4400+
?) 4200+
?) 3800+
?) FX-60

i see you have a 3800+, would you replace that without a question for the 165. and if you had a choice rather choose the 170 over the 165?

i dont no about "without a doubt". i think the 165 is cheaper than the 3800 in the US right? here it is $60 more expensive and my athlon overclocks well so its not a problem to me. my x2 can run at 2.85ghz on air which is about as good as any 165 i've heard of. i don't have much money but if i had a choice i would definitely take the 170. the 165 at stock speeds performs a little lower than the x2 3800+ but most seem to overclock further

ive heard the 165 can reach 3.1 Ghz on air (i assume on air means the temp cooling, lol)

Outside of the Opterons, the 4400+ is the best bang for your buck. But I'd go with an Opty, just to have the overclocking ability later on.

actually thats not a bad suggestion. the price difference is $172.00 between the 4400 and 4800 and only for a 2.2 / 2.4 ghz difference.

the 4400+ = $460 USD
the 170 is around $400
and 175 = $550

do you still think the 4400 is the best value and power?
