cpu?

i was just wondering which processor i should get i was originally going with an " Intel Pentium 4 2.40Ghz (800MHZ FSB/HT), Prescott Core, 1MB Cache" $220
untill i changed to AMD, i was thinking an "AMD XP 2400+ RETAIL BOX (THOROUGHBRED)" $110.

i was just wondering what the performance differance is between the two?

well i can tell u now that i have a intel 2.6 400 FSB no HT and its so fast. I never seen a AMD before but if thats a 2.4 with 800 FSB and it has FSB then im sure its gonna be a lot faster.

I would get the 2500+ Barton core...maybe even the mobile version if youre gonna overclock...few extra dollars but it seems to be a very popular cpu arond here

I agree with Apex, Go with an AMD. They are less expensive and still give great performance. This will also allow you to spend some of your computer dollars on something else like a better video card or a bigger hard drive etc..
