Ok i was looking through the video cards for the E1705. Is there a huge difference between the x1400 and the 7800? How does the x1400 fare against today's games?

Yes theres gonna be a huge difference.

I havent seen any benchmarks, with that gpu, but im gonna guess it will be able to play any games up until oblivion. It MIGHT play oblivion, but my guess is not.

If i do plan to get the geforce go 7800 isnt there going to be a lot of power consumption?

not so much...i believe there's good power handling on the geforce Go cards
