Ok my friends, my norwegian pal has asked for help from me to get him a new custom built computer for a maximum budget oF!!

£1500.

So since the USA is cheaper id guess that leaves him with a budget of.

2000 dollars.

Hes convinced that he wants everything brand new, although he is keeping the old HDD as a backup.

Also when are those new Intel dual cores coming out. and should he wait.

3...2...1...GO Build that system!!

This comp is for, and i quote "hardcore gaming". and hes prepared to OC.

hrmm... well parts over there may cost more.. but i guess with american i'd get

opteron 165 - 325
7900gt - 315
250 gb wd cavier 7200 rpm 16mb cache - 100
g.skill ddr 500 ram - 100
antec truepower tp2 - 90

case, and mobo are up to you.... those two together should only be like 300 dollars though.. so that saves him alot of money...

Woah, you can add in a Dell 24 inch LCD if you want now :). You could also add another 7900 GTX and go SLI to nicely power the big screen.

Yes im aware of the exchange but did u take into consideration that things are a heck of alot dearer in UK nevermind norway.

No, I just made a conversion.

X = 1.75Y therefor 1500X = 2625Y

Estimates are frigile things, so I perfer precision.

I think what he means is that parts are more expensive in the UK, regardless of the exchange rate, so if we bought something for 50usd here, there it would be 65 usd. ( I think that is what adam02 is trying to say)
