Color backgrounf of icons?

I was wondering how i could take off the color of the icons on my desktop. I have reseted the style to silver and back to blue but the icons still have color. So how should i take the colors off of it? Current os is windows xp.

Click My Computer on the desktop.

Click View System Information on the left pane.

Click the Advanced tab, and then click "performance -> settings"

Click on "adjust for best appearance".

the specific one you need enabled is the icon's drop shadow.

I think hes talking about the name of the icon has a colored bg on the desktop like in windows 2k

yes, the that means the drop shadow is disabled...normally..
