Ok, im looking for a desktop PC, but im not sure how much I should spend.

I don't know much about hardware so I was hoping youse could help me out.

All I Know is that I don't want it to cost anymore than

$1700 AUD = 1,265 USD.

Thankyou, in advance.

They're decent, but you could do a lot better. What video card? Motherboard? Case? PSU? I recommend a SATA-compatible motherboard and a SATA hard drive for cleaner cables and higher performance over the IDE. Also, I highly recommend AMD over Intel at this point. They've proven to be the superior CPU. That'll most likely change come the release of Conroe, but that's not really relevant to the discussion.

It's also important for you to tell us your main uses for this PC, because that can greatly affect what hardware you should get.

Edit: Are you building this yourself or buying it prebuilt? If you're getting a prebuilt, you may want to tell us the retailer you're doing business with.

I'm building it myself. I am using it for Gaming. Not High Gaming or anything, but basic stuff. Like CSS.
Could you recommend an AMD Processor then?

get atleast a 6800GT but a 6600Gt probably would fit you well, if your jsut planning on playing CSS then no need for a really high end graphic card.
