the fan over my processor

the fan over my processor suddenly gets noisy and the computer gets stuck for some time and this happens again and again
my usb mouse and keyboard also stop responding in this while.
what could be the problem.does it have to do anything with some dust in my heatsink over the processor?

Dust can usually cause that to happen and so could your processor if it isn't getting cooled enough

Noisy as in it speeds up, and then your computer freezes. This is problem your processor is overheating.

Specs? and if you could download everet home edition and see what temps your CPU gets at that would be nice

Dust will cause your computer to run hotter, and if you have a lot, you need to do something about it because that is a problem. Get a can of compressed air, turn off the computer, open the case, and clean it out. If you are still having problems, let us know.

Use Ctrl+Alt+Del and see if you computer is infrected by a virus, worm.... It could be maxing your CPU out therefore freezing your computer.

Try getting an antivirus program such as avast (free - avast.com)
