power supply help

I am building my first system, and I have a 350 watt power supply installed. I installed a couple case fans, and then hooked up the power to my power supply. These are the only parts i have at this point and I ant to make sure everything works. When I turn on the power nothing happens. Can i even do that?

no you cant. Bacisally what u need to do in order for the power supply to be in effect is, u need to have it in ur case and u need the jumpers on my mobo in the correct spot and then ur good. If you just have the fans on the power supply, there is nothing for the PSU to activate it. Get what im saying? Its kinda confusing.

it works like this. you must have your psu plugged into your motherboard to make it run the other power outputs on the psu.
