My PC won't start. After turning on the PC the motherboard light comes on and no input detected disappears from screen However nothing appears on screen(No p.o.s.t is displayed or anything).
and CD-ROM makes a sound (indicating the motherboard contacted it)
So far i've....
installed an external AGP card to no luck.
disconnected all devices from motherboard
reset BIOS

A quick question....
if ram and / or CPU is faulty should the pc at least reach the BIOS screen in either case or is it possible that nothing at all will be displayed?

its unlikely the ram as there have been no beeps , and highly unlikely the cpu it usally outlasts the other parts even in cases where a cheap psu went bad

did you try to overclock or changed ram timings before it happen?

check if the vga cable is sitting tight in both ends ,if its sittting well then try this , unplug the power cord and get the battery out for 1 hour then put it back & reconnect the power cord & power up (when puting back the battery put it exactly as it was,not upside down)
