i just don't know, because I could reinstall xp right now, and it would work, until I had to restart it (because of sp2 and various programs) then it would do what it is doing now, (I am thinking it is because it won't restaurt right)

Also go to microsoft update site and do all the critical updates before installing service pack 2. Some of those updates help with problems found while installing SP2.

okay I guess I will try that, even though my motherboard is made by intel and its a serverboard, so I know for a fact it definately supports pentium 4's, any other ideas before I reinstall windows? I think it is in my computer freezing up after I restaurt. (only when I restaurt, if I just hard boot it, it starts just fine, but I think that is what is messing my system up) is there any other programs I should run to check hardware or things I should install right after windows?

once installed click on the computer at the side then sensor and check your temps.

to check your temps are within normal range CPU should be from 30C to 50C but its intel so not above 80C.

Does the freezing ONLY! happen once service pack 2 is installed or is it all the time?

okay I know all my specs and stuff I just have no clue how this is happening, um my cpu was below 50 c, all temps normal, everything seamed normal, my memory tests were pretty good. I got to do memtest86 next.
