critical patch update

i recently installed the microsoft

april critical update patch. after

the install i failed to restart. the

next day on boot up i noticed that

the update was listed as

cancelled in microsofts update

review history. all attempts at

reinstalling has failed since

microsoft update indicates 0

updates for installation. how do i

reconfigure the update to void

the cancellation as it now

stands?

it might have failed because the update might be looking for an app on your system that you dont have so there for, it wont install

Does it show the update #? Maybe you can search microsoft.com for the update # and download and install it manually.

i tried to update individual kb #s but the ms link always reverts back to the update window that indicates 0 updates are available and review history showing those patches as cancelled.

does it say what patches they are?

it was the ms critical update patch of 4/13. coincidentally the patch has created a corruption for a substantial number of xp users.
