Hi,

Having had a look around my BIOS last night I noted that the CPU speed is set to 2200mhz, is this standard for a 4200+ X2 ?

I notice that some of the other users of this forum highlight tat they are using 3800 or 3000 also running at 2200 mhz.

HAs the cycle speed of AMD processors generally remained the same and they have simply improved throughput or is my CPU running a little slow ?

4200+ is a dual core cpu.

each core runs at 2.2ghz with 512kb L2 cache.

the 3500+ runs at 2.2ghz also with 512kb L2 cache.. only difference is that its just 1 core.

the 3200+ socket 754 cpu runs at 2.2 ghz as well...

the 3700+ runs at 2.2ghz with 1MB L2 cache..

so there are a lot of factors that make up the number... for your cpu its a dual core cpu (two CPU cores in one..) so the number is gonna be higher. don't worry.. you have a good cpu.. hehe.
