Ok you can probably guess from the title of the thread what this is about but i just want to know what you guys think is the best cpu cooler out there (air not watercooling btw)

I have heard a lot of people say the thermaltake big typhoon is the best one out but i have just come across on overclockers.co.uk that thermalright are the best.

When a fan says how much airflow it has in CFM what is good?

Tell me what you think.

Thanks

Thanks
Does anyone know if the thermalright xp-120 can be used with any fan? it recommends the panaflo but that only has a cfm of around 80 and i have found a fan at 120

will work with any 120mm fan , whats the dba (noise level) of that fan you found? i bet its very loud , 30 and less is considered quiet

be aware that cuz of the size , xp-120 doesnt fit every mobo , better check supported mobo list on thermalright site

Its highest sound output is 39.5 dB is that very loud?

Its 110.03 cfm not 120 and top speed of 2400rpm. that good?

I will check if it supports my mobo.

Whats the diffference between the xp-120 and the sI-120??

lol and where does it say mobo compatibilities on their website?

thanks.

39.5 is very loud , by *highest* you mean its adjustable with a speed controller? your talking on this one dont you?

on the highs its very loud but on the lows its quiet , you really dont need to crank it up all the way for good cooling , dont know about the diffrences i suggest youll ask at this forum http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com , as for the list get into the product page then on the picture click *amd* or *intel* or *motherboard compability information* (its in the bottom of it , on the right) , you welcome :D

Can you use this heat sink without a fan or do you have to buy one to use it. It says in its specs that is moves like 60CFM so i guess this means u dont need a fan right? i know it will help im just wondering.

i dont know anything about the thermaltake one but if u want a fanless CPU cooler... Scythe Ninja. I have it on my CPU and it works great (dropped my temps about 10C with a fan, fanless mode dropped it about 3 or 4 degrees) Just make sure u have a big case (and probably ur side panel fan if u have one wont fit mines on the outside of my case). its a massive cooler but works great. I've heard alot of ppl recommendin the thermaltake though. Or you can get this baby: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835154001

and slap this fan in it: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835129245
