Sound Card Problem

I recently bought an X-Fi Platinum. I have had it for a month with no problems until now. When I switch to Gaming Mode, I get static through my speakers. I am sure that it is the card since it does it on headphones as well.

Does anyone know how to correct this? Do I have to send it back?
