can i use usb to connect 2 computers 2gether?

i've got a question like this, my DVR had a usp port on the front, im pretty sure its for USR flash drives, but i have a usb cable with the same adapter on both ends, can i transfer things from my DVR to my hard drive with that?

do u have the users manual for teh dvr? if you do, it should say in the manual
