Building a server

My uncle needs a new server for his office (it's a small office, consisting of his computer, his co-workers computer, and the current "server"). They share a routed DSL connection. Obviously he doesn't need anything fancy for a server, and I really don't know what to consider when building a server. The only thing I've seen is that they tend to have a TON more ram. Any suggestions on configurations?

so like u want a Xeon or like a real server? Also DSL isan't gonna give u good connection on a server. But yea u do need a lot of ram. You will probley be spending over 500 dollars on ram. Depending on what ur gonna be using it for, you are probley gonna need to get atleast 2-4 gigs of ram. As for building one, if you get a xeon, its just like a regular mobo just with 2 CPU's. But if u want like a 1U or 2U server then i have no idea what to do...
