Ive been looking around at some LCD monitors, but im not really sure what to look for. i mean i know you want a low response time, but what else. Does CRT have a response time? Can someone explain the difference, pro and cons of LCD and CRT monitors.

if im not mistaken CRT has refresh rate. Depending on ur budget

a Viewsonic VX922 2ms is pretty good. or a good Samsung Syncmaster, or any other Viewsonic with good resposne time, and ACER is not bad either.

The main difference, is obviously, size. CRT is way more chunkier.

An LCD has the same picture quality of a CRT, back when they just came out they were worse, but now they're right up there. Look for a 8ms monitor. You'll pay through the roof for a 2ms, and it really isn't needed. I have a 8ms LCD and play all the latest FPS games, and I have no blurring whatsoever.

Philips, Viewsonic, and BenQ are the brands to look for.

a good, and fairly inexpensive monitor is the Viewsonic VX922, it has 2 ms and is 19" and is about $320.

Once you go LCD you'll never want another CRT again.

CRTs use refresh rates, the faster the better.

LCDs have response times (time it takes to go from white to black to white). LCDs also have refresh rates, but need to be set as low as possible (60Hz).
