You may want to consider the X1800GTO, it just came out on newegg, it has 256-bit GDDR3 memory. I haven't seen any benchmarks yet, but it will probably overclock like a mother ****er.

GeForce 7600GT > All GeForce 6, All Radeon X800, All Radeon X1600.

Only things better than the 7600GT are the 7800s, X1800s, and X1900s, period.

Hmm, I too am looking into getting a new video card for around the $150-230 ish dollar price range.

From what I've been reading everyone is saying get a 6800 GS.

I currently have a AMD AthlonXP 64 3000+ Venice Core, and I'm going to be getting a new mother board MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum ATX as well and just change out my CPU into the new motherboard.

Should I stick with the 6800GS or just pay the extra 20 or so dollars and get the 7600GT ?

I mostly game with this machine... World of Warcraft, Battlefield2, etc.. Either way the upgrade will be much better than I currently have since my 6800GT Ultra AGP burned out on me a month ago.

Thanks in advance for the help =)

Hmm, I am leaning towards the 7600GT, theres quite a few for around 200-210 dollars on newegg.com. the price doesn't bother me between the two cards, was just curious as to which is better performing for gaming.

=)

Did a bit of research since I had no clue what you meant by that Septoid2.

According to a few various sites the 7600 GT is better thant he GS version.

Quote from Firing Squad analysis:

"The best news of all for the GeForce 7600 GS is that NVIDIAÂ’s made no compromises to the G73Â’s core architecture for GeForce 7600 GS, all the pixel and vertex shaders found in GeForce 7600 GT carry over intact, nothingÂ’s been disabled. All NVIDIA has done is lower the clock speeds to make GeForce 7600 GS cards cheaper to produce. For instance, the GeForce 7600 GT requires high-speed GDDR3 memory running at 700MHz, whereas the GeForce 7600 GS is able to get by with cheaper 400MHz DDR2 modules."

Basically from what I've read, the GT runs faster but at the extra cost.

meh... GT here I come
