hi,

I am student and cannot afford to buy high-end graphic card, but i like to play games..

Now if i got 200USD , what is the best choice available in the market now ? For PCI _E

new graphic card keep coming out and i dont know how to choose - another thing will the VGA Ram affect the games?

thanks

If you'll be using AA and AF alot and you like ATI, X1800GTO (and can be unlocked to X1800XL speeds!)

If you want slightly faster speeds and a little cheaper than the X1800GTO, the 7600GT is the card for you.

The X1800GTO can enable AA/AF and HDR at the same time, and can be unlocked to a 16pipeline card. The 7600GT cannot be unlocked and cannot enable AA/AF and HDR, but runs a bit faster than the X1800GTO when both compared at stock settings, it's your choice.

thanks for the reply ,i wan to ask here what is the difference between Pro, XL,GT,XL version ?
another thing, is the graphic ram is that important?

i found something around my budget ..:
X1600, X850, 6800GS, 7600GT.... ( may in Gs,Pro,GT )

which one is good? ( I will use it for 1st person shooting strategy games, but not a crazy gamer . and not plannig to overclock it ...)
I really dont know how to choose coz Nvidia VS ATI ) hahha
thanks

X1800GTO, unlocked to the X1800XL, sounds like a very good idea. If you dont feel like taking that chance, the 7600gt is your best bet.

memory size does matter in games.

it matters a lot more going from 64<128<256 than from 256<512

if you get 256 you're good to go. if you get a slow card with DDR memory, well then 512mb or even 256 won't do you a whole lot of good. if its a fast card with GDDR3 memory, then having 256 or 512 will be that much better.

I say get either the X1800 GTO or the 7600GT, both are really good cards for the money. In a review I read recently the X1800 GTO beat the 7600GT when ever they enabled AA/AF (usually around 10 more fps), but the 7600GT beat it with them off (except in HL2). I'm not sure if they unlocked the extra pipelines or not. Personally I would go with the X1800 GTO with the 16 pipelines already unlocked and the $60 dollar rebate for HDR + AA and better AA/AF performance. I know it costs 240 bucks off the bat, but for $180 dollars after rebate your getting a dam good card for the money.

he said that he found something around his budget
X1600, X850, 6800GS, 7600GT

out of these, 7600GT is the best one .
