ok..once again im having problems...I thought everthing was basicly ok since my last prob I was having...but while online yesterday...my computer crashed and wouldnt restart right again. I get an lsass.exe system error and then makes me restart.
So I might just give up and take it to somebody to fix it this time.
Now do I need to enter the serial # to do a repair to windows? the guy that I talked to says...he doesnt think he can do much without the serial. The thing is I bought this computer w/ windows already installed..so I have no clue on what the serial is.

If I could atleast get into windows..there a way I can retrieve it...but getting into windows might be a slight prob.

thats correct but it must be done quickly , and it can also be done from start-->run

If you can't get into windows to do the fixes listed above you
might try to get into windows in safe mode.

Look on the computer case to see if the windows xp key
is listed there. Most name brand computers have the
sticker on the case. If it was custom build and doesn't
have a sticker you can find some programs on the net
to read the XP key as long as you can get back into
windows.

The Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder is a freeware utility that retrieves your Product Key (cd key) used to install windows from your registry. It has the options to copy the key to clipboard, save it to a text file, or print it for safekeeping. It works on Windows 95, 98, ME, NT4, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Office 97, and Office XP. This version is a quick update to make it work with Windows Server 2003.
