Weird purple stuff on the ground

check out these links please tell me whats wrong with my video card or what ever it is I talked to some1 and he said it might be a bitmap error or something idk what that is or he said it could be artifcating which then i would need to rma so what do you guys think??

system specs and such...


I'd want to say it's artifacting... but it seems like it's only happening to that texture...

does it ever happen to anything else?

no its only happened twice on the ground of those tunnels.... system specs

AMD 3200+
EVGA 6800gs
80 gig hard drive...
1 gig ram


then again thats the only game i really play so idk

hmmm... a 6800gs shouldn't be giveing you any problems unless it is overheating or defective (which I doubt)

if it only happens durring that part of the game... then it is probably a software issue... (a corrupt texture file or something)

personally, I would just ignore it

ok im not sure if i have all the latest drivers downloaded could that be causin the problem?

you can get the latest nvidia drivers here:

two other things you can try:

install and play another game and see if you have similar problems

or check your temperatures to rule out overheating

right now on nvidia settings it says gpu core temp 44 degrees c and ambient temp 34 c ... dont exactly know what that means but does that rule out overheating?

yea... you can rule out overheating... and artifacting...

so... it must be a texture file...

you could reinstall the game?

I get that too, and I'm not OCing at all.

I just discoed, and restarted it and it went back to normal. Must be a problem with the game itself.
