WTH 70 Degrees

My Pentium D is running at 70-75 degrees on its stock clock. I have underclocked it to 2.0. Do you reckon this is an error, the thing is it works perfectly.The heat sink is really cool aswell.Do you think it is because i am using the crappy intel heat sinik. I am going to most liely buy sum arctic silver.

Hello,

That's a bit high. Check to see if the heatsink is correctly pasted and seated on the CPU. It may not be dissipating heat properly.

Arctic Silver 5 is a good thermal interface material to use, especially over those thermal pads. Make sure you clean both the heatsink's surface and the CPU core properly, and ensure you apply the right amount (not too much).

Pentium Ds normally get that hot with stock at full load.

If you want to lower the temperature, keep the frequency the same and try lowering the voltage.

Make sure there is solid contact between the core and the heatsink. Maybe investing in a new heatsink and some AS5 would be a good idea.

Is it 70F? or 70C?

70F is excellet, 70C is common for an intel but yes it is dangerously high

I have fixed the probelm. Thanks. The **** CPu wasnt fastened to heat sink. **** intel coudnt u use a normal socket design.
