Logging off to black screen

I have 3 users on my computer: me, my wife, and my brother. Whenever one of us logs off, it goes to a black screen and nothing comes back up. The only way we can log off without a problem is by switching the user and logging the other user(s) off through the Task Manager. Anyone know why this is happening?

Windows XP could be having problems terminating a process, or processes when you attempt to logoff.

Does this happen when you shutdown or restart?

Does this problem occur on other Windows XP User Accounts?

Do you have an Antivirus program installed...?
