File Views

Why is it that when I have selected a way to view files ( i.e. details view in regular files or thumbnails view in “My Pictures” file) they don’t stay that way. Sometimes when I go to into these files I have to change the view option back to what I want. Arrange by groups doesn’t stick either.

make sure you select "Apply to All Folders"

I don't want ALL my folders to view the same.

Apply to all folders gives ALL folders the view "that you are using to THIS (current one you have open) folder".

In the same window (Folder Options) View Tab I have under
Advanced Settings:

"Remember EACH FOLDERS VIEW SETTINGS" Checked

??
