What makes Office 2003 student and teacher edition $100 cheaper than Standard. All of the same programs are there...

I don't get it. Is it the exact same? It just says "optimized for students and teachers" what is that compared to Office standard? is it cheaper because it's for students?

This is what it says on the Microsoft site:

Office Student and Teacher Edition 2003 is a personal learning license for noncommercial, educational use only. To obtain Office Student and Teacher Edition 2003, you must be a qualified educational user or a household member of a qualified educational user. Find out if you qualify and see other important licensing details.

It does indeed have all the same features that are found in the Standard Edition. There are all types of pricing schemes. For instance, in this college community the Retail Upgrade Version of Win XP Pro can be purchased for $95.

BTW, to honor the military; Microsoft made available in the military PX the "Full" Retail version of Microsoft Office 2003 Standard for $59. Yep, for that price I bought it.
