defraging xp

i have 20% free space, but the same files refuse to get defraged, even in diagnostic mode.

and it says i have 33% total fragmation, and 66% file fragmation, and defrag stops and says its done at 14% so i dont know if its a bug or it should be like that. any tips?

what's kind of file that cant be defraged ? is that a DAT. file ?

U tried Diagnostic mode, have u tried going into safe mode.

alternatively, if you have Notron System Works, it has a defragging utility Speed Disk i believe it is called.

no, it's misc files like installed games, movies, from small to large files.

and norton gave me trouble with defragging since it had 6 gig in the recycled folder that wouldnt defrag so i had to uninstall it and delete them and dont dare to install it again ;P
