i just reinstalled windows on my pc, now when i go to use my cd drive, it doesnt recognize there's a cd in there, i lost the cd that came with it, is there any other way to reinstall the drive?

Try going to Samsung or Microsoft web site to download the driver for it. They should have the right ones, make sure.

Well, windows XP doesn't need drivers for anything. Especially
cd-roms! Do you see the cd-rom in My Computer? if not, check
the connectivity.try to unplug the tape-wire and plug it in back.
if yes, what happens when you double click it? it opens it like
there is a cd inside but without anything in it? or it crashes and
when you kill it the cd-rom icon disappear from My Computer?

However, i believe that it should work without drives, but try
find 'em and see if it's working. If after the installing of the drivers
you have some of the problems i said before, you better replace
the cd-rom.

i installed the drivers, still no luck, i double click it with a cd in it, it just says "please insert disk into drive E" but there is a disk in it, i dunno, was gonna get a dvd/cd burner anyway, this just burns cd's, gonna replace it when my new drive gets here in 3 days, anyway thanks for your advice.
