Laptop on for X days??

Ok, I have a laptop (HP Pavilion zv6000) and I purchased a Targus Notebook pad with two fans...

I like to download a lot, so with laptops -- is it not good to keep it running all the time (and by that I mean, let's say from the start to 2-3 days?)? Are there any negative effects?

You can keep it running for a long time....just make sure you have that thing cool.

Yeah it doesn' seem to get hot. I have the fans going on and I have the open slots for the heat to escape clear.

they do have special USB powered fans that the laptop sits on, so it doesnt overheat.
