help formating this pc

i am trying install a external cd rom on a laptop which the usb ports are 1.1 and my slight problem is that i cant do this bc there is no floppy disk drive to install the neccessary objects thats needed bc they came on a floppy disk so my question is how do i go about installing this on the pc i have a crossover and my pc i have is using xp pro and the lap is using windows 98 se so how do i do this i need help asap

yea you may beable to download the drivers.

if not... XP can read win98 partition... its just not the other way around.

So since you say you have then networked together? right? then you can just creat a folder on the laptop, and go to properties and allow that folder to be accessed by other comps on your network.... put the disk into the XP system /right click mycomputer/map network drive... enter //"compname"/"foldername" ....and then copy the Disk files over to the win98 folder, and there you have them.
