I have a motherboard thats a year old from asus. Its a P5GDC-V Deluxe and I fear that it wont be able to run my dual core processor. What intel motherboard, preferably asus, would be able to run this processor without a lot of hassle?

your right , i checked the cpu compability of that mobo on the asus cpu support page and dual core aint there so it defintly wont work with it , anyway its hard to suggest a mobo without a budget so what is it?

and are you 100% you want a pentium d ? athlon 64 is much better for gaming , you alredy got that processor or you tought about getting it? its unclear

Yea, sorry to say but Intel's Pentium D series failed as a whole. The only thing Intel has going for them now is their Mobility chips. Once Conroe is released, they'll be able to compete with AMD, but for now, forget it.

But if you must know a motherboard that is compatible with that processor, then any motherboard that is Socket T/Socket LGA 775 will work.

I can go up to 200, also if I decide to return the intel processor what AMD dual core processor and motherboard combo would you recommend. My budget for the processor would be under 400 and my budget for the motherboard would still be under 200.
